First upgraded for model year 2010 with an all-new exterior and interior design, the Mustang GT features a revised look inside and out, as well as a number of new standard and optional features. But the changes for 2010 stopped short of introducing much needed powertrain changes an issue addressed for the latest model year Mustang GT.
To differentiate itself from the previous model, Ford made subtle changes to round the front and rear fascias – changes that can be overlooked at first glance, but upon further inspection the changes do give the latest model year car a distinct look.
Ford’s Mustang GT Coupe is a serious sports car that finally comes to bat with a complete, competitive package, on or off the track.

Three vertical tail lamps on each side light up in sequence when the turn signal is engaged, making the Mustang’s rear stand out in any light.

The GT coupe is now powered by a 5.0-liter V8, producing 412-horsepower along with best-in-class 26 mpg highway fuel economy (For V8 engines) with its standard six-speed manual transmission. The all-new 5.0 DOHC V8 boasts twin independent variable cam timing and all aluminum construction to make the most of its horsepower and 390 lb-ft. of torque.
Standard equipment now includes 18-inch alloy wheels, with size-up wheels optional. Ford’s AdvanceTrac electronic stability control is newly standard, and it joins traction control, front and seat-mounted side airbags and anti-lock brakes on the Mustang’s roster of passive and active safety features. Premium models add leather seat and steering wheel trim, Sync, Sirius satellite radio and a Shaker 500 audio system, among other cosmetic upgrades.
