Acura RDX 2012
The RDX gained the addition of a front-wheel drive model (up until now the RDX has only been available with Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system).
The RDX is powered by a 2.3-liter DOHC 16-valve in-line four-cylinder engine with i-VTEC valve control that combines Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) with Variable Timing Control (VTC). With the variable flow turbo working in concert with i-VTEC, the RDX offers a good blend of performance and fuel economy.

The RDX is Acura’s smallest SUV offering, and caters to those seeking the comfort and luxury for which Acura is known, but in a small package capable of leaving the pavement.

A 5-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift is standard. The electronically controlled drive-by-wire throttle and transmission work together to execute shifts, resulting in exceptionally quick and smooth gear changes.

The RDX also boasts several new standard interior features including a rear view camera system, electronic compass, a pull handle to make closing the rear hatch easier, auto-function headlights, ambient footwell lighting, a center console storage tray, improved cupholders, USB-port connectivity, and Note function for XM Radio.

Pricing for the RDX begins at $32,520 for the FWD model, and with the addition of SH-AWD the price is bumped to $34,520. Acura’s Technology Package (The only option available on the RDX) can be had on either model for $3,100. While the RDX’s sport-minded chassis remains the same, starting with the 2010 model the RDX features revised braking system components that deliver better feel and enhanced durability.
Likewise, a specially engineered hood and other components help reduce the chances of pedestrian injury in the event of a collision with the vehicle.
